These are cute, repetitive little padded board books full of silliness. At first glance I was concerned but after actually reading them I'm relieved and entertained (as are my girls!) If you get all three (recommended!) start with Pottytime for Chickies. Although, I have to admit, Dinnertime for Chickies is my favorite of the books so far (I hope they keep coming!). Picky eaters is par for the course when it comes to toddlers and preschoolers and as a mama you definitely want them to "try just a [...]
The ongoing epic saga of the sheep, cow, and pig impressing their societal rules upon the chicks continues with this installment. And while in Bedtime for Chickies the chicks were mildly demanding about their whims, at this point they're just purely inconsistent. (view spoiler)[First they want chocolate chips, then something cold and icy, then something hot and gooey? These chicks are all over the place. These cute little chickies are picky eaters! Pig cow and sheep convince them to try some new foods and the chickies like them. The illustrations in the book are adorable and the rhyme in the story is fun to read. I think it would be a nice story for parents who have picky eater kids. The book is a board book with easy to turn pages for little kids hands.*NOTE I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
This is the third in the Chickies series. Here the very picky chicks are reluctant to try new foods, asking for sweets instead. But Sheep, Cow and Pig cajole them into trying the foods and the chicks discover that they like them! By the end of the meal, they might just be too full for dessert. This is a funny addition to the series that will encourage small children to try new things.
My son loves this book. It's very catchy and funny. The pictures are full of fun details and nice little details. He can recite it by heart and gets very annoyed if I make a mistake. He particularly likes the bit about napkins. We did have to change one word because he eats quesadillas, not bean burritos. But fortunately it scans.
"Wash your wings and take a seat!" This charming tale in rhyme will please the pickiest of eaters. Chickies don’t want new foods, but are surprised at what they are served. Try something new, you just might like it!Reviewer 18
